Residents kick off the Holiday season with a community sing for peace at the Darien Community Association
Dear Readers and Residents of Darien,
Perhaps at first glance, our recently re-elected Board of Selectmen may appear an odd choice for the cover of a holiday issue. Well, once you read the article and understand the full extent of just how much this extraordinary group of five Darien residents does for us and our town, you will see they are where gifting and gratitude meet, a perfect choice for our lead story.
We are especially pleased to point you toward The Rev. Ryan Fleenor’s Mind Set column. Whether you have a faith tradition or not, may it take the stress out of the coming holiday season as it did for us. He is a great writer and it is a powerful message.
Speaking of stress, if you feel it, don’t eat! Find out why in Linda Stephen’s In Good Health column this month. And women in midlife, as you look to the new year, keep Linda’s Midlife Mastery course in mind. It’s a six-week program beginning the second week of January and it’s all about how you should be eating, exercising and more to get ahead of those pesky midlife body changes. Interested? Email her at lindaifbbpro@gmail.com.
If you really want to strip the stress from your holidays, check out this month’s Good Table column featuring Palmer’s Market and find out just how much they can take off your plate (pun completely intended!).
Also, what’s not to love about Ten Twenty Post? It’s no wonder this place is such a staple in town, a consistent, delicious anchor in a growing restaurant scene. We may try other places, but we’ll always come back here. Read about it in this month’s Partner Profile.
All this and more including a line up of Darien’s beloved nonprofits presented for your gift giving pleasure and a terrific column on the Turkey Bowl from Ali Von Kennel and the Blue Wave Booster Club await you in the pages ahead, along with our wishes to you for a happy, healthy, relaxing holiday season filled with all that makes you whole.
As always, special thanks to our great advertising partners who make this magazine possible, especially Greens on the Go and New Canaan Chamber Music, new to our pages this month
