Just as we color each day with our thoughts, relationships and activities—from the simple to the many layered, so do we create a life worth capturing, things we want to remember, occasions we want to honor, outside the drawer or closet in which items representing them may be stashed.
Thankfully for us in Darien, there is Accent Picture Framing, a division of Geary Gallery at 576 Post Road—though “framing” only scratches the surface in describing all they do to preserve memories and decorate our lives in the custom frames, museum cases, and shadow boxes they craft (and, by the way, the art restoration they do). From a grandfather’s collection of pipes, a child’s first ballet slippers and diplomas, to a christening gown, a child’s footprints in the sand or their first visit from the tooth fairy (complete with tooth!) to a set of antique golf clubs or an 1800s Indian tomahawk, to commemorating weddings, trips, and sports milestones, there is nothing too big or small for them to tackle.
Here’s a sampling of their compelling creations. For more, visit gearygallery.com.
